Venom Apocalypse (Marvel RP idea)

Okay, imagine a Venom Apocalypse. Take the Marvel Supervillain Venom. We all know how quickly it can take someone over. NOW, imagine a lab experiment gone wrong. One venom splits off and becomes two, two become four, and they take over people left, right, center, and all over the place. The worst part is that whereas a zombie apocalypse takes time to spread, a Venom one might be on par with a level three or level 4 Zombie Apoc within a matter of hours. And oh yeah, Venom Don't Care. Most of the casualties would come as the aftermath of mass panic and chaos.

This is where it gets interesting. Your OC is in the midst of this, amongst a group of other unlikely heroes, and now must work to find a way to purge the Symbiotes out of the world population.

ADDENDUM:

AFAIK, there are several locations on Earth that might be safe from the Venom Apocalypse. Latveria, Genosha, and Rkwanda (sp?). Latveria because Dr. Doom is ungodly in terms of raw power and will, Genosha because of the mutant population there and Magneto, and Rkwanda by virtue of the Vibranium weapons and equipment. Out of those three, Rkwnada would be the easiest of them to locate. If you're a mutant, Genosha would welcome you.

But though Latveria is the safest of these three from the Venom hordes, it is also the most difficult to enter, as Doom wouldn't trust the free world to keep the Venom out. Another possibility is a SHIELD or MRD stronghold if you work in one, and even then, well, Venom can be hard to dodge.

Here's a question: what would you do to survive such a thing? If you're an MRD officer in a mutant cell block, and saving yourself from the Venom meant freeing the mutants, would you do it? If you're a SHIELD agent in charge of a group of supervillains and the Venom started sweeping in, would you do the same? That is where it all gets good, I think.

I can't help but think about the environmental variant factor in the Venom-clones themselves.

We saw what happened to the symbiote offspring growing in an earthly environment with Carnage.
There was even one storyline where a group deliberately took pieces of the Venom symbiote and forced them to grow into new 'variant' versions where each was a different color and had new strange abilities (Like acidic properties or the ability to create large crushing objects out of it's own mass)

It's possible that amid all the thousands of clones there would be the occasional one that refuses to get in step with the others and bond with someone who would gain strange new abilities with it.
