Shadowrun: Interview with an Angel

She nods, "Wolf."

"Wolf. Interesting. You a shaman, too?"

"I am not. I think."

"Okay. So now you're a part of the pool. Have a place to stay?"

"No, ma'am. Never got a home for myself. I've got a cache of equipment a ways away for my heavier gear, but otherwise nowhere."

"All right. I'll take you to my safehouse. I've got several around Redmond, and some out in the sticks, and bolt holes set up all over the city. I am, after, the Guardian Angel, and I've got to look after my runners. And it'll give you a chance to meet Lacy."

Wolf nods, "Alright. My only weapon not on me is my HK PSG. I need to pick it up before we go, though, as my Spyball's in the cache. It's on a rooftop a block or so away. If you give me the location of the safe house, I'll grab it and meet you there."

"Okay, give me your com ID, and I'll send it to you, securely," Angel said nodding, tapping her com link, and tapping something out in her virtual keyboard.

She nods, pulling her com' out of a pocket in her coat, "Right... Here you are." She types it up, holding it out to Angel.

"Fantastic. Meet you there," Angel said, nodding. "I'll let Lacy know you're coming, so she won't blow your head off." She slid out of the booth, and winked at Wolf. "And welcome aboard. Glad to have another hacker on the team."

Wolf stands as well, "And thank you for the oppurtunity, sexy. I'll be there within the hour."

The next day, Angel was back in the clubs, checking out runners, and looking for new prospects. She was happy to have at least two but a good team needed more than that.

Ceres Wildwind... with fingerless gloves, a patchwork duster-- as most adorned, where else to keep your belongings but on yourself? Sat at a rotten old chair at a bar stall in a corner, her long brown hair and sparkling barrette the only light coming off her person. Ash and gunpowder took the place of makeup on this woman, but the light in her eyes and meticulously white teeth spoke of a secret vanity as she scoured the bar for interesting persons... They were piercing blue, one obviously cybernetic-- but for the most part she seemed to have very few cyber-parts. She.. picked a particularly shady corner to sit at, and looked rather.. normal, her ashy white short-sleeve T-shirt under her trench coat, her boots matching the other woman, and traditional baggy khaki pants under a pair of utility belts. She was open-wearing her own heat, but other than that.. seemed rather.. bored with the whole place.

Angel sat at her own booth, still in the back, well away from the dancing, foot tapping to the beat. She'd chat with somebody, every now and again. Most left disappointed, as it was obvious that she was looking for something other than gutterpunks. Angel, honestly, was looking a little frustrated by now.

Ceres stood up and lowered her head, she buried her head down a bit in her coat and headed towards the door-- Angel's booth on the way.

"Hey," Angel said, loud enough to get the woman's attention. "You looking for work?"

The woman looked at the other for.. a long moment, her chin coming out of her undercoat and standing full height, she'd... move slowly over to the woman's booth and attempt to sit across from her, if she was denied access she'd simply stand. "What trouble makes you ask a random stranger.. loudly, for his or her help?"

"It's not help. I'm looking for talent. And you look like you could be qualified. All I've been finding, so far, have been posers," Angel said with a sigh. "So. Care to sit a spell and chat? I need talent, and you look like you've got it."

Ceres looked down at herself, and sighed.. leaning forward a bit on the table, and dragging her hands up through her hair, "What.. makes you say I have talent?"

"You look like you've had more experience than these gutterpunks I've been talking to," Angel said. "I'm a fixer, and I have the connections to set you up with a team, and with good work. I just need the right kinds of talent to call on."

"You... what? I don't really need a team.. if I'm what you're looking for, then obviously you've and eye for subtlety.. as do I, but... for achieving subtle goals, plucking a string in the.. twilight of things. Talents to call on? I've got talents, what's the paygrade?"

"It depends. Sometimes I negotiate for you. Sometimes you've got to negotiate for yourselves, and I've just been the one to set up the meet. I take a small percentage to help cover costs, because I provide safe houses, bolt holes, and hiding places. But as a shadowrunner, you do work in the shadows, doing subtle things, to get the right results. And if you haven't been on a team, then you haven't had the big jobs," Angel said.

She blinked at that. "I like you. I'm in." She'd stand a bit and extend her hand, "Ceres Wildwind."

"I'm called the Guardian Angel," Angel said with a grin. "And I think you'll like the others too... Is that your handle? Or your name?"

She.. pulled her hand back, and sighed. "It's what I introduced myself as."
